It’s a Black Kats Sweep

The Black Kats say “Not this year” as they take the title back from the Highlanders.
It was all Fredericton from the start in this title game as they controlled the glass and won the rebounding battle 76 – 47.
The Black Kats exploded out of the gates with a 23 – 8 first-quarter lead. Fredericton put up 22 more in the second as the Highlanders could only muster 11. It was FHS 45 – Bernice 19 at half. BMHS would score 11 more in the 3rd frame as they held Fredericton down to 14. It was slipping away with just ten to go, FHS 59 – Bernice MacNaughton 30.
The Highlanders would have their best scoring quarter in the 4th as they put up 26 points to Freddy’s 12. Make the Final Black Kats 71, Highlanders 56.
Norm Burry was Player of The Game for Black Kats and had a game-high 22 points and 18 rebounds for the double-double. Malcolm Christie also collected a double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocks.
Davis O’Brien scored 20 points and earned Player of The Game honours for the Highlanders.
