Black Kats 2nd Straight Title

It was tight for a quarter, but the Kat started purring in the second quarter.
When the Harbour Station horn blared to end this one, the Fredericton Riverview Ford High Black Kats were celebrating their second straight Final 12 AAA title, this one an 82-43 win over city rival Leo Hayes High Lions.
Fredericton stretched its lead into the half at 39-22 and outscored Leo Hayes 43-21 in the second half, securing 18 steals along the way, to post the win.
Maddy Colpitts, committed to McGill University Martlets, paced Fredericton with 21 points. Torrie Janes, off to play with Saint Mary’s University Huskies, had 17 and Grade 10 Allie McCarthy punched home 15 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. Sophie Trail, a recruit of the Mount Allison University Mounties, had 14.
Grade 10 big Madalynn Kean had 12 points and14 boards for Leo Hayes. Senior Bianca Hughes meshed 10.
