If you’re going to have a game, you may as well make it all count in the biggest game of the season.
That’s exactly what Allison Doucette did Saturday.
Doucette erupted for 32 points and garnered a dozen rebound to help propel Rothesay High Red Hawks to a dramatic 70-67 New Brunswick Final 12 AA win over Fundy Middle High School Mariners of St. George in a dandy.
Rothesay led most of the game including 35-28 at the half and 54-46 entering the fourth quarter.
The teams traded a smash of three-balls to open the fourth and Fundy would actually climb back into this late, outscoring Rothesay, 21-16 in the final frame, but it wasn’t enough.
Ally McLaughlin had nine for the Red Hawks. Sisters Keelan Lewis and Allie Lewis had eight points apiece.
Emma Willard’s 14 sparked Fundy. Erin Ingalls had 13, University of New Brunswick Reds recruit Sara Fudge scored 12 and Sophy Craig popped 11. Bella Jones had 13 rebounds.
