Ready, Set, Almost Go For Boys Sectional Championships

Tournament sites are booked. It’s ready, set, almost go. The road to the New Brunswick Interscholastic Athletic Association’s Final 12 gets a whole heck of a lot clearer this weekend with provincial sectional tournaments ready to unfold. Who’s got game? Guess, we’ll see, eh?

Here’s your tour for the AAA, AA and A sectional tournaments.


AAA

Site 1

North-East @ Bernice MacNaughton High School

 Four teams gather at Bernice MacNaughton High, home of the Highlanders for the right to get to Harbour Station.

It all kicks off Friday at 6:30 p.m. when Fredericton High Black Kats battle Riverview High Royals.

The host Highlanders get Saint John’s Simonds High Seabees at 8:15 p.m.

The two winners collide in Saturday’s 1 p.m. final.


AAA

Site 2

SouthWest @ Saint John High School

 The Port City gets its taste of SouthWest sectionals, beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m. when Moncton High Purple Knights clash with Fredericton’s Leo Hayes High Lions.

Host Saint John High Greyhounds then face Miramichi Valley High Pulamoo at 8:15 p.m.

Winners meet Saturday at 1 p.m. in the final.


AA

Site 1:

North-East @James M. Hill High School

 It’s playoff time near the Mighty Miramichi River.

Action kicks off Friday at 6:30 p.m. when Sackville’s Tantramar Region High Titans have a date with Rothesay High Red Hawks.

The 8:15 outing has host James M. Hill High Tommies against Florenceville-Bristol’s Carleton North High Stars.

Site 2

South-West @Woodstock High School

 The lid-lifter in the Hospitality Town is 6:30 p.m. when JMA Armstrong High Cougars of Salisbury face St. George’s Fundy Middle High Mariners.

Host Woodstock High Thunder gets Bathurst High Phantoms at 8:15 p.m.

The marbles will be decided for a Saint John ticket on Saturday at 1 p.m.

NorthEast @ Petitcodiac Regional School

 Petitcodiac loves its basketball, especially playoff-style hoops.

Expect the gym to be packed Friday, kicking off Friday at 6:30 p.m. when Canterbury High Trojans battle Blackville School Eagles

The host Petitcodiac Regional High Panthers will get the home crowd rocking when they play John Caldwell School Golden Knights of Grand Falls at 8:15 p.m.

The final is Saturday at 1 p.m.

SouthWest @ Fredericton Christian Academy

 All systems are go for the SouthWest quartet of teams.

Action kicks off at 6:30 p.m. when Central New Brunswick Academy Rockets of New Bandon come to the Capital to face the Harvey High Lakers.

Fredericton Christian Academy Eagles play host to Belleisle Regional High Bears in an 8:15 p.m. contest.

The winners have a date at 1 p.m. for the final.
