The final game of day 1 featured the Carleton North High School Stars and the Hartland Community School Huskies. These two teams were never more than 5 points apart until mid way through the 3rd quarter. That is when the Stars pulled away and never looked back as they win the Boys AA Championship 75 – 55 over the Hartland Huskies.

It did not take long for the both team to get going as each team was scoring early but then they both locked it down on D. Carleton North led after 10 minutes 16 – 15. The second quarter did nothing to create separation as they each put up 14 points and at the half it was CNHS 29 – HCS 28.

Hartland came out quickly in the Third and built a 5 point advance but that was when Carleton North started to turn it on. They exploded for a big run and took the third quarter 23 – 13 and led 52 – 41 after three quarters. The Stars continued their onslaught into the fourth as everything seemed to be falling for them as Hartland struggled from the field. Carleton North outscored the Huskies 22 – 13 in the fourth and they won the game 75 – 55 for the Provincial Championship.

Carleton North was led by Aidan Stone who scored 17 points and added 8 rebounds. NBIAA Southwest AA boys player of the year, Colby McIntosh scored 16 points,7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 seals. Alex White and Ashton Broad chipped in with 12 and 11 respectfully. The Huskies offense was powered by their NBIAA Southwest AA All-Star, Ethan Culbertson, who scored a game high 28 points and added 4 assists. Their big man, Brady Herbert scored 11 points and added 15 rebounds for a double-double.

in the end, the Ball movement and finishing around the rim for the Stars was their key to victory as the Huskies struggled with their shooting and had plenty of trouble taking care of the ball with 23 turnovers.

Congrats Stars on your Provincial Championship
