NBIAA Final 12

Make it Two in a Row for the Thunder Girls

The favorites from Woodstock allowed St. Stephen to hang around for three quarters but eventually the depth and experience for the Thunder allowed them to prevail in the big game, Woodstock win it 56 – 38.

The first quarter started like a hockey game as it was 2 – 2 after 5 minutes but when the nerves setting the two team got them games going and after 10 minutes it was Woodstock out in front 13 – 11. The second quarter started much like the first but Woodstock would score 14 points and the Spartans scored 9. At halftime the Thunder led 27 – 20

The second staff begins with the Spartans still in contention but the #1 ranked Thunder had other ideas and won the 3rd quarter 18 – 7 and we pulling away now and with 10 to play it was WHS 45, St. Stephen 27. An even fourth quarter would have each team drop 11 points and the Woodstock Thunder defend their title with the 56 – 38 championship win.

Woodstock were led by NBIAA All-Star and Player of the Game, Haley Hemphill who had 25 points and 8 rebounds. Kyra Craswell added 11 points for the Thunder in a winning cause.
