Pulamoo Swim to Victory for AAA Girls Title

The #3 ranked Miramichi Valley Pulamoo were behind early, took the lead and lost it before mounting their come from behind win against the #1 ranked Saints.

The Saints got the early jump on Miramichi Valley in the first quarter and after 10 minutes held a 12 – 7 lead. In the second, it would be the Pulamoo that controlled things and they would take the quarter 22 to 13. At the half it was the girls from the ‘Chi with a 29 – 25 lead

Miramichi would pull away in the third and held a 14 point lead halfway through the quarter, but the Saints turned it up late and ended the quarter on a 12 – 0 run to win the quarter 18 – 13 and would take a 43 – 42 lead into the fourth. It was back and forth in the final quarter and the Pulamoo would need a late run to swing the lead into their favour as they won the 4th 20 – 16 and the championship 62 – 59.

Miramichi Valley Pulamoo were lead by NBIAA All Star Erica Mah with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals, Lily Sisk with 13 points and 11 rebounds, NBIAA All Star and player of the game Georgia Bell with 11 points 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

The St. Malachy’s Saints were led by NBIAA All Star and player of the game Avery Alward with game high 19 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and NBIAA All Star Clancy McIntyre with 18 points and 8 rebounds.
